🚀 IntuneWin – Deploying Win32 Apps via Intune 🎯

The IntuneWin format is a method for preprocessing Windows Classic (Win32) applications. The tool transforms application installation files into the .intunewin format. Once you apply this tool to the app packaging folder, you can create an app enrollment configuration that enables advanced deployment features, such as OS version dependencies and uninstallation methods for remote application removal. Win32 apps in Intune size limit of 30 GB per app.


To start the configuration

1- First you need to download the Microsoft Win32 Content Prep ToolMicrosoft Win32 Content Prep Tool

2- Unzip the tool to a folder, E, C , F etc drive (you can choose any folder you like).

3- Save your application  in the same folder as the Content Prep tools. 





4- Now we will create the .intunewin package using PowerShelland. Navigate to folder where you have saved tje tool.


Navigate to the folder where you have saved the tool."

cd "your folder path"





5- Type dir to list the items in the folder. Wi need to run this one


When you run this command: .\IntuneWinAppUtil.exe he will ask you to specify the source folder:

Just copy and paste the path  E:\Microsoft-Win32-Content-Prep-Tool-master




It will ask you to specify the setup file (the program name). Copy the program name, paste it into PowerShell  .exe  and press Enter





It will ask you again to specify the output folder. You can use the same path where you saved the tool.




In the last step, it will ask if you want to specify the catalog. Answer 'N' (for No).


DONE




If everything ran successfully, you will see the .intunewin file listed in the folder




1-  Navigate to Intune https://intune.microsoft.com/

2- Select apps -> Windows -> Add-> choose Windows app (Win32)



3- Select the app package file 



4- Make sure that you have written the publisher and ther version 

5-Set 'Show this as a featured app in the Company Portal' to 'Yes' if you want to make enrollment optional for user installation.



6-On the next page, enter the app-specific parameters and type /S to ensure that it will be installed in silent mode. If you want to allow users to uninstall the app, you should also provide the uninstall command






7- Choose you app behavior between system/user.

8-Depending on your app, if it needs a reboot or not, you can choose between these options



9- Specify the device requirements as shown in the picture. 



10- Add info of the script



11- On the next page if your app requires other applications first, configure the dependencies. If no dependencies are needed, you don’t need to configure anything.



12- On the next page if you want you can specify which apps will be directly updated or replaced. Supersedence is useful when you want to manage versions of an application and ensure that older versions are automatically removed or updated when a new version is released. It can be very helpful.


13-Assign the application to an Entra group  


14- The great option to schudel the process
